About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Overall it's a nice hotel. We had a nice view of the beach from our room, but the room didn't smell nice. We left the room every morning, not returning until 1 or 2 in the afternoon and some days not until later in the evening and our room had not been attended to by house keeping. We did not leave the privacy placard on the door. I had to call and request towels and that be room be cleaned. Once called they did respond in a timely matter. And these Hotel staff were very friendly and courteous.

Review:   Glenn was very helpful and nice. The hotel's location is amazing. We spent the first nice in a regular room. The carpets in the room need to be changed, and the bathroom needs some work to make them look better. It's only when we upgraded to the sea front room, one of thei nicest rooms, that i liked my stay. It was totally worth the extra money.

Review:   We have been coming to the Aston nearly every year since 2000. The location is one of he best at Waikiki with outside transport, 50 metres from the beach, many food outlets within or around the hotel, close proximity to the rest of the strip. Service has always been paramount to the management and staff. The rooms are clean but dated and who sits in a room anyway when in or on any of the Hawaiian Islands. The rates are more than competitive as there are various you can choose from as in weekly, over 50, over 60, and if military there are upgrades and free parking plus some other perks. Overall a four star experience.

Review:   Awesome location! This is the second time we have started here because the amenities are great. Gym, free DVD rentals, beach chairs, towels and across the street from an awesome beach that is kid friendly. The staff is awesome and always welcoming. I highly recommend.

Review:   Favorite in Oahu. While this is not "a 5-star hotel," it serves our needs with the perfect combination of price, location and view. They eliminated their great complimentary breakfast 😥but still would not go any place else. It's right across the street from the beach and next to Kapiolani Park which is an absolutely beautiful place to walk, and also closest to Diamond Head. Staff is friendly and courteous. Room is nice with decent TV and bathroom. Sliding glass door and outside patio with a couple of chairs complete the experience.
