Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Honestly when we booked this venue it looked and sounded AMAZING. Unfortunately it fails to live up to the advertisement. It is a very tired out dated " MOTEL". The restaurant is only open for breakfast. The bar is not open at all. The bed OHH THE BED. So FREAKING HARD the location offers very little except backpackers all around it.The wife booked a room on ground floor and walk in shower due to a recent hip replacement. No that didn't happen either .The local bar was full of locals smoking SOMETHING just outside the door while others were trying to eat. The gardens were not well kept and there were visible signs of rotting timbers ( check in the main reception behind the receptionist at floor level.) The lady at the desk did her best to help so I thank her for that. We finally were given a refund after a drip feed back into our account over about 4 days. We paid for the one night at a premium rate. Sorry to have to be so negative but we moved the next day to the Kingsgate at the other end of town and there we lived " happily ever after" for the balance of the week at a far cheaper rate and FAR better facilities and a wonderful staff and INCREDIBLE restaurant and meals. All of the negative reviews about the Pacific im afraid are true except maybe our room was as bad as the dreaded room 100. The wife also learned the value of reading these reviews lolol. 😊

Review:   The rooms and grounds are in a state of disrepair that should be unacceptable - made more upsetting by the mid-range price point this hotel charges. It's also hard to raise your concerns with staff as we found the reception frequently un-staffed, and the reception closed from 7pm (it wasn't easy to tell if there was any night manager) is not generally what we would expect of a standard hotel. My particular dislikes were the rust in the shower (wear your flip-flops!), the pungent chemicals cupboard right beside our door, and the filthy windows that had been missed by room servicing before we arrived and during our stay. On the plus side, the staff (when you can find them) were very friendly, the wi-fi is excellent and the beds were comfortable and clean. Such a shame management does not look after their asset better - a few small repairs and we would have loved staying there.

Review:   Very friendly staff, nice breakfast and very clean rooms. However more a motel than a resort, which is not what we expected.
