Review:   Recommended for: Couples Seeking a Romantic Getaway on an Amazing white sand beach

Pros: Sandals Montego Bay is the flagship Sandals resort - the first in a long legacy of resorts designed with couples in mind. But time has not forgotten Sandals Montego Bay; the property saw a huge renovation/modernization in 2016! I stayed at Sandals MoBay in 2013 prior to the renovations. You can see my review here: https://bonvoyagebybarbour.wordpress.com/2013/06/27/jamaica-fam-trip-sandals-montego-bay/ I had an amazing time here; this resort is FUN! It's very active and social, with lots of daytime and nighttime activities. We saw an amazing dance production centered around Jamaican culture and history. Guests staying at Sandals Montego Bay have full exchange privileges with Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals Inn - that's over 20 dining options to choose from. This resort is great for couples on a short weekend getaway, due to its proximity to the airport. It also has the longest continuous beach in Montego Bay and it's 100% private! Some REALLY fun motorized watersports are included in your stay: waterskiing, watertubing, glass bottom boat, etc. Take full advantage!

Cons: The resort is right by the airport, so you WILL hear and see air traffic during the day. (After the first day, we didn't notice it). This is a very WIDE resort, so guests staying in the Butler Suites and Villas will have a long walk to the main resort amenities (use your butler!).

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Review:   ABSOLUTE BEST VACATION OF OUR LIVES! My husband and I went here last month for our honeymoon and it was absolute paradise! I have to say what made the experience so great was not the unlimited drinks, food, or beaches (even though that was ALL AMAZING), it was the staff! They are all so friendly and make you feel like family! They get to know you by name and you will come home talking about them as well. There was always an event going on at night that you could include yourself in, or you could nestle away somewhere by yourselves and have some privacy. Everything was so relaxed and you don't have to worry about anything! We loved the stay at 1, play at 3 option. But to be honest, we loved our resort so much that when we visited the other resort (Royal Caribbean), we went back to ours the next hour! Montego Bay is better if you're looking to have more "fun," as in they have more events going on more activities to choose from, and it is more lively. If you're looking to have a more relaxed, laid back vacation, the Royal might be better for you. No matter what, you can't go wrong. We will definitely be going back to a Sandals soon!

Review:   Overall a super great experience! We had a few issues with room service taking a while one day or some staff members being rude, but overall the food was delicious, drinks were made well (albeit very strong!!), staff was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome and at home. By the end of the week most of the staff knew our faces and some even knew our names. A great week spent in Jamaica!

Review:   Our vacation was awesome. Staff was so friendly. Room was clean, view was perfect, weather was perfect with a slight breeze. Pool bar and ocean are perfect day time hangout spots. The ocean water in front of the resort is perfect. No seaweed. Dining options are good...Bayside for dinner was our favorite dinner spot. Matthew at Oleander was great too. We hope to make it back at some point.

Review:   The resort was very beautiful, clean and well maintained. Overall the staff was friendly and helpful. Sometimes they made it overly difficult to find privacy though, being as there seemed to be more employees than actual guests. The beach is small- very small and crowded. Between the construction and constant groundskeeping being conducted it was nearly impossible to fully relax. The room was much smaller than it appeared to be in the pictures. The bed was very comfortable but you hear constant activity throughout the entire night. Mostly the sound of the carts being wheeled up and down the tiled floor leading to the rooms, and this was at all hours. Housekeeping was well performed but highly untimely. On several occasions we would leave for the day early in the morning, only to return late in the afternoon, and find the room had still yet to be tended to. It even appeared that the housekeeping employees had only cleaned a few rooms in the span of several hours and spent the majority of their time congregating amongst themselves and other employees. The all inclusive food and drinks was one of the biggest deciding factors for us to choose Sandals. The drinks were clearly watered down and far from delectable. Red Stripe was the only apparent beer available and its stale stench lingered yards from the bar as you approached. The food overall was barely decent. Be careful when you bite into any sort of chicken as tiny bones are nestled all throughout. Pizza was good. The security is essentially nonexistent. Why these employees are even on their payroll baffles me. Anyone could easily gain access to the grounds from the adjacent slums by swimming or rowing up to the 4ft retaining wall. Overall the trip was a new and good experience for us but I would not recommend this Sandals. We have not stayed at their other resorts so I cannot speak to them. You are definitely paying for the name and not the experience in Montego Bay. Pay no mind to the "no tipping" policy because the only way to get decent service is to casually slip the employees $. Even then they expect more and your money wears thin.

Review:   Spent 10 days here in March. The resort is beautiful. Beautiful views. Good food. Good drinks. Really have no complaints except for the stay at one, play at 3 thing the nearby Sandals resorts have. It seemed like everyone from the smaller resorts were coming to Montego Bay to enjoy the beach there, and that made it crowded at times. That should be limited if you ask me. People complaining about the planes, you honestly count to 5, and they are gone. They dont start too early, and they don't end too late. Can you hear them? Yes. But not a bother at all.
