Overview

New Zealand’s biggest city offers a huge variety of sightseeing tours and activities thanks to its spectacular location – Auckland straddles an isthmus between two harbours, with 48 volcanic cones scattered across its skyline. The Auckland City Tour is a great way to orientate yourself and explore the city. Visitors can choose from a range of Auckland sightseeing tours all within a short distance of the central city: take a tour on the sparkling waters of the Waitemata and enjoy views of downtown Auckland, the Harbour Bridge and iconic volcanic cone of Rangitoto, which rises out of the waters of the Waitemata Harbour; or take a short ferry ride from the city and take Waiheke Island tour, one of New Zealand’s leading wine regions, for a relaxed wine tasting.

Auckland city boasts some of New Zealand’s best restaurants – from fine dining to a wide range of ethnic eateries, there is something for every budget; or shop till you drop on Queen Street, browse the designer offerings of the new Britomart precinct or take a trip to the historic village of Parnell for boutique buys in fashion, art and homewares. Outside the city, visit Auckland's natural attractions – take a sightseeing tour to the windswept black sand beaches and lush native bush of the West Coast just 45 minutes from Auckland city, or get up close with the diverse local marine life at the famous Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World, just five minutes from downtown.

Auckland’s Maori heritage is celebrated at the Auckland War Memorial Museum located in the city’s oldest park, Auckland Domain, with sweeping views over the city and harbour. Join the morning Auckland City day tour and see the cultural performances by the local Ngati Whatua iwi (tribe) including dance, song and haka and gain a fascinating insight into the Maori culture and New Zealand history. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to views of the city too – the Auckland Sky Tower offers a 360 degree panorama from its SkyDeck, 220 metres above the CBD.
