Destination Overview

Where mythological deities preside over sacred temples and local legends waft through ancient palaces, the mystical and exotic history of the "Island of Gods" mingles amid a diverse secular heritage of arts, music, dances and crafts. Get outside for your daily dose of sun, sand, sea and surfing, and you'll find yourself right in the heart of it all at W Retreat & Spa Bali - Seminyak.

In our own world of natural splendors set in the Indonesian archipelago, go from a day of basking on a stunning beach to browsing the island's most eclectic collections of art, crafts, dining and shopping just steps from our extraordinary tropical setting. The chicest enclave in Bali where the sunshine is golden and the nightlife scintillates, your days and nights revolve around an ever-evolving mix of excitement, whether you're staying in or going all out.

Go paragliding off breathtaking cliffs, or take the plunge with the adrenaline rush of bungy-jumping and sky-diving. If you just can't get enough of the water, the surf is always up, and or you can make a splash with kayaking and white-water rafting. Trek across mountains terraced with padi fields or go underwater and explore this side of the life aquatic on a diving or snorkeling expedition. If you have your game on, tee off at one of the island's gorgeous golf courses or try your hand at sport fishing.

Explore Bali's largest and holiest temple, Pura Besakie, where you can pay homage as the sun rises—the ultimate Balinese experience. At Goa Gajah, a grotto of elaborate stone carvings dated to the ninth century, immerse yourself in historical spirituality before learning more about it at Pacifica Art Museum, Museum Rudana and Purl Lukisan. Balinese culture comes alive through the magical synchronicity of its music and highly stylized dances, not to mention waves of colorful batik and ethnic art. Visit artisans and craftsmen at the Ubud Art Village, where you can also learn these heritage skills, or browse the galleries to curate your personal collection. If your shopping stamina is still going strong, the Discovery Shopping Mall, Bali Collection Shopping Gallery and Mall Bali Galeria should round out your retail reconaissance.

Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   I love this place and came here often for drinks and brunch. The brunch is only on Sundays and it cost $60 and I must say its well worth it. You can also use their pool for free after brunch. Or I recommend going there from Monday to Thursday after 4pm for their happy hour. Two-for-one drinks and free pizza and yes you can also use the pool. If you have anymore questions don’t hesitate to ask.

Review:   It's simply the paradise on earth. The rooms are huge, modern and offer lovely views. The food is awesome and the breakfast offers a wide spread. The swimming pool is huge and one the best in the world. The spa is 5 star and service is excellent..... Staffs are very courteous and friendly taking care of every single detail. Loving it and will definitely visit on my next trip to bali.

Review:   I've been to Bali 3 times and every time I make it a necessary stop to visit W (in particular the bar area). The layout is amazing during the day (kid friendly) and then beautiful by night (ditch the kids). At night the overhead lanterns ignite to display something very pretty. They generally have international DJs play from time to time so check with their website for up and coming events. Recommend highly!

Review:   Came to this hotel with family and everything is awesome as expected! Great atmosphere and very lively! Beach is super clean! Recommended definitely! The only ridiculous thing is that you need to go through the toilet 'door' to get to the main room door.. stupid design.. and they definitely need to put more efforts in their maintenance as there are quite some mold on the bathroom floor and stains on the sofas..

Review:   Sunday brunch at the W is a bit pricey, but well worth it. There's all sorts of high quality, fresh seafood - oysters, salmon, tuna, crab, mussels, ... - as well as other food items. If you like bubbly, definitely go for the bubbles package. The champagne package isn't necessary unless you're a purist.
