Testimonials from Piper's clients:
"Had half a dozen trips set up through Piper before COVID hit. She has been a champ with cruises cancelling, flights changing, cancelled plans, rescheduling, etc. Have rebooked several for next year and she is always happy to help and very detail oriented. It is especially helpful to have someone you know will be "on the other end of the line" when travel plans change, flight connections are missed or changed. Piper is readily available to help you through it all!"

Overview
Hôtel de la Cité - The privilege of a rendez-vous with history in the charming setting of Carcassonne's medieval fortress.
Built in 1909, Hôtel de La Cité was extended in 1913 and 1927. In the 1920s, it became the stop-over when travelling between Nice and Biarritz or between Biarritz and Barcelone, and thus earned the reputation of becoming a highly fashionable place to meet. Skilfully combining the greatest comfort with the elegant tradition of the grand hotels, the hotel makes its guests feel at home.
As befits a hotel of such unique character, each of the 47 guestrooms and 13 suites at Hôtel de la Cité are individually furnished and decorated with more than a dash of aristocratic style.
Varying in shape, layout and interior, several of our rooms and suites have balconies and terraces allowing panoramic views of Carcassonne, while others offer vistas of the charming cobbled streets of the citadel.
The Hôtel de la Cité's gastronomic reputation rests on its Michelin-starred restaurant La Barbacane. Located in the heart of the hotel, its neo-Gothic room features magnificent fireplaces, high ceilings and cathedral chairs.
Regularly recommended by all the highly regarded gourmet guides, La Barbacane offers a menu which combines the freshest local ingredients with innovative recipes and fine attention to detail. The hotel's finest French wines are stored in La Barbacane's Wine Cellar, also available for private wine-tastings and dinners.
Throughout the hotel, the emphasis is on warmth and elegance. Guests will be delighted by the very pleasant traditional atmosphere - whether enjoying fine-dining at La Barbacane, relaxing at an al fresco meal in the outdoor summer restaurant, Le Jardin de l'Evêque, or lingering over a cocktail in our Library Bar with live piano entertainment.
Offering a dramatic view of the Saint-Nazaire Basilica, the hotel's pool is the perfect place to unwind after a long day exploring Carcassonne. Relax under the cool shade of aged trees, or bask in the warmth of the Mediterranean sun.
Nestled within the ramparts of the citadel and amidst its romantic gardens, the hotel offers a unique experience to each of its guests. Whether sipping wine under the towering trees or tasting some of the region's most exciting cuisine at La Barbacane, Hôtel de la Cité offers a marvellous blend of the medieval and the contemporary.
Hôtel de la Cité is perfectly placed to explore the region's Cathar castles, the lush vineyards of the Languedoc-Roussillon province and the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
